IT Manager
Location: Milton Keynes – office based
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday
Are you a hands-on IT professional ready to take ownership of technology within a busy and growing business? We’re recruiting an IT Manager to lead the day-to-day management of a company’s internal IT systems and infrastructure. This is a practical, varied role where you’ll keep technology running smoothly, support colleagues and deliver improvements that make a genuine difference. This is an internal technical lead position rather than a people-management role. You’ll work independently, becoming the go-to person for IT while collaborating with colleagues, suppliers and clients.
What you’ll be doing:
- Taking ownership of internal systems, infrastructure, devices and applications
- Administering Microsoft 365, user accounts, licences, permissions and access
- Configuring and maintaining networks and Ubiquiti equipment
- Providing responsive technical support and resolving hardware, software and connectivity issues
- Managing equipment set-up, upgrades, replacements and maintenance
- Strengthening security controls, backups and business continuity arrangements
- Identifying recurring issues and implementing effective long-term solutions
- Maintaining accurate records of assets, licences, suppliers and system access
- Planning and delivering IT upgrades, migrations and improvement projects
- Preparing and configuring equipment for client installations
- Attending client sites to support installations
What we’re looking for:
- Hands-on experience across IT infrastructure, systems administration, networking or technical support
- Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 and related technologies
- Proactive, organised and confident troubleshooting problems independently
- Clear communication is essential, as you’ll support both technical and non-technical colleagues and explain recommendations in a practical, commercially aware way.
- Experience with Ubiquiti equipment, IT security, backups, access controls, upgrades or migrations would be particularly valuable.
- You’ll also need a full UK driving licence and the flexibility to attend occasional client installations or support critical work outside standard hours.
If you enjoy taking ownership, solving problems and improving how technology supports a business, we’d love to hear from you.
