Senior Consultant / Consultant - Payment Services

London (Hybrid, 3 days per week in the City office)

The worlds of payments, e-money, cryptoassets and fintech continue to evolve at pace. Regulatory expectations are becoming more complex, business models are becoming more innovative, and firms need practical, commercially focused advice to navigate both.

We're partnering with a highly respected specialist regulatory consultancy that is experiencing significant growth. As a result, they're looking to appoint either a Senior Consultant or Consultant, depending on experience, to join a team that works at the forefront of regulatory change across payments, e-money, crypto and wider digital finance clients.

This is an opportunity to work with some of the most innovative businesses in the market while developing your expertise alongside recognised regulatory specialists. You'll combine technical compliance knowledge with genuine client partnership, helping firms solve complex regulatory challenges and achieve their commercial ambitions.

The Opportunity

Joining a collaborative and highly regarded consulting team, you'll work directly with regulated firms across the digital finance ecosystem, supporting them through every stage of their regulatory journey.

You'll advise clients on FCA requirements, contribute to regulatory projects, conduct compliance reviews, support authorisation and variation of permission applications, and help businesses build effective governance and compliance frameworks.

For those joining at Senior Consultant level, there will also be opportunities to mentor colleagues, take ownership of key client relationships, contribute to thought leadership and play an active role in developing new business opportunities.

This is an ideal move for someone who enjoys variety, values client interaction and wants to build a long-term career in a business where expertise, autonomy and progression are genuinely encouraged.

What You'll Be Doing

Building trusted relationships with a diverse portfolio of regulated clients

Providing practical advice on FCA regulatory obligations and compliance requirements

Conducting compliance monitoring reviews, gap analyses and regulatory assessments

Supporting FCA authorisation, change in control and variation of permission applications

Reviewing and developing policies, procedures and compliance documentation

Assisting firms with regulatory reporting and ongoing compliance obligations

Delivering client training and regulatory updates

Monitoring regulatory developments and translating them into meaningful client guidance

Collaborating with colleagues across specialist practice areas

Contributing to articles, technical content and thought leadership initiatives

Identifying opportunities to deepen client relationships and support business growth

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with compliance professionals who combine strong technical knowledge with a commercial and client-focused mindset.

You may currently be working in a regulatory consultancy or a payments/e-money/crypto firm with:

Experience within regulatory compliance, risk or advisory environments

Strong understanding of FCA regulation and compliance frameworks

Experience supporting regulated firms with compliance monitoring and regulatory projects

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

The ability to translate technical regulations into practical business solutions

Strong report writing and documentation skills

A proactive, commercially aware and solutions-focused approach

For Senior Consultant level appointments, experience managing client relationships, mentoring colleagues and contributing to business development activities would be highly advantageous.

Why Join?

You'll be joining a business that has built an exceptional reputation for technical excellence while maintaining a genuinely collaborative and people-focused culture. There is significant investment in professional development, exposure to market-leading clients and the opportunity to influence the future direction of a growing practice.

Interested?

Whether you're an established Senior Consultant looking for greater influence and client ownership, or an experienced Consultant ready to take the next step in your career, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
