The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced AC Engineer to join a well-established building services business operating across the commercial, industrial, residential and MoD sector's

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career, taking responsibility for their own work, supporting junior engineers and trainees, and helping deliver high-quality projects for a varied client base.


The successful candidate will be technically strong, organised and confident dealing with clients, engineers, suppliers and other site personnel.


Key Responsibilities

As an AC Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Commissioning, servicing, installing, repairing and maintaining air conditioning systems.
  • Working across commercial, residential, industrial and MoD environments.
  • Reviewing building plans and specifications to establish air conditioning requirements.
  • Installing and working with HVAC control panels and leak detection systems.
  • Designing and installing pipework and containment systems.
  • Supporting the installation of containment for other trades where required.
  • Providing technical support to clients, manufacturers and internal teams.
  • Supervising and supporting junior engineers, labourers and trainees.
  • Ensuring junior team members are suitably trained, competent and fully briefed on their tasks.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures.
  • Ordering materials and equipment required to complete projects.
  • Ensuring installations comply with relevant building regulations, industry standards and legislation.
  • Supporting the maintenance of F-Gas records and compliance.
  • Working with manufacturer-approved installation schemes and maintaining relevant training requirements.
  • Working with leading manufacturers including Samsung, Mitsubishi and Daikin.
  • Attending manufacturer and technical training courses as required.
  • Providing training and technical support to apprentices and mechanical/electrical trainees.


Additional Responsibilities

The role will also involve:


  • Supporting other trade disciplines when required.
  • Assisting with site surveys.
  • Supporting the estimating team with mechanical and electrical quotations, tenders and enquiries.
  • Attending site meetings and representing the business professionally.
  • Working closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, engineers and internal management.
  • Supporting the development of new areas of the business.
  • Promoting a positive and professional working environment.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties required by management.


What We're Looking For


We're looking for someone who has


  • Strong experience working within the Air Conditioning / HVAC industry.
  • A proven background in installation, service, maintenance and commissioning.
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial AC systems.
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior engineers would be highly advantageous.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of F-Gas regulations and industry standards.
  • Experience working with manufacturers such as Daikin, Mitsubishi and Samsung is desirable.
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and specifications.
  • Good communication and customer-facing skills.
  • A professional and positive approach to work.
  • Ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.
  • Full UK driving licence.
