Design Manager (Junior) | Sunderland (Hybrid) | £26,000 – £30,000

Our client, a leading company in the Interiors & Fit Out industry, is seeking a talented and experienced Design Manager to join their dynamic team. As the Design Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the design process, from concept development to final implementation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Architecture or interior design, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating innovative and functional spaces. You will work closely with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

We'll support your development with a clear path for progression as you build your skills and experience.

What You'll Be Doing  

• Supporting the design team through feasibility, planning and technical stages of live projects.
• Assisting with coordination between architectural design and construction/site teams.
• Helping to prepare and check technical drawings and design documentation.
• Attending client, consultant and site meetings alongside senior team members.
• Building your knowledge of the UK planning process and design and build delivery.
• Taking on increasing responsibility as your experience grows.

What We're Looking For

• Some experience or a keen interest in architecture, construction or the built environment (relevant study, placement or early career experience welcomed).
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Eager to learn, with a genuine interest in design and construction.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to get stuck in.
