Junior 2nd Line IT Support Engineer Lancashire (Hybrid – moving to mainly remote) Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 per annum Standard 8 Recruitment is representing a well-established technology business that’s looking for a capable and down-to-earth IT Support Engineer to join their growing team. Right now, the role is hybrid (around two days onsite per week), but it’s set to move to mainly remote over the next few months. You’ll be trusted to work flexibly, manage your time well, and deliver great service without being micromanaged. What you’ll do • Resolve desktop, server, and cloud support issues • Manage Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 • Configure and troubleshoot firewalls, VPNs, and networks • Visit client sites occasionally, so a full UK driving licence is needed What you’ll need • Proven experience in IT support (1st/2nd line or similar) • Solid knowledge of Microsoft tech stack (Server, AD, Group Policy, 365) • Networking experience (TCP/IP, routing, VPNs) • Exposure to virtualisation (Hyper-V or VMware) • Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset If you’re after a flexible, grown-up environment where your work genuinely makes a difference, Standard 8 would love to hear from you.
