The Role
As Head Chef, you will take full ownership of the kitchen, leading a small, stable brigade and delivering high-quality dishes across lunch, dinner, and weekend peak service.
You will be responsible for maintaining standards, driving menu development, and ensuring a well-run, efficient kitchen that balances quality with profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all aspects of kitchen operations on a daily basis.
Design and develop seasonal, fresh-food menus.
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
Control GP and kitchen costs effectively.
Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff.
Ensure full compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations.
Work closely with front-of-house to deliver a seamless guest experience.
Key Requirements
Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef ready to step up.
Background in fresh food kitchens, ideally within gastro pubs or similar environments.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Good understanding of GP control and kitchen financials.
Passion for seasonal produce and modern British cuisine.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
Reliable, organised, and hands-on approach.
