Overview
A well-established coastal hotel and restaurant in the heart of a sought-after seaside destination is looking for a talented Head Chef to lead its kitchen operation. This is a high-visibility role within a busy, all-day dining environment, popular with both guests and locals, offering fresh, seasonal menus with a strong focus on quality produce.
The Role
As Head Chef, you will take full ownership of the kitchen, leading from the front while maintaining high standards across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service. You will be responsible for menu development, team leadership, and ensuring consistent delivery during both steady trade and peak seasonal periods.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate and develop a stable and committed kitchen team.Design and deliver seasonal menus with a focus on fresh, locally sourced produce.Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.Manage GP, stock control, and ordering in line with budget targets.Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.Work closely with front-of-house to deliver a seamless guest experience.Drive kitchen performance during high-volume service, especially in peak seasons.
Key Requirements
Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef ready to step up.Background in fresh food kitchens, ideally within hotels or quality gastropubs.Strong leadership and team development skills.Solid understanding of kitchen financials including GP and cost control.Ability to perform under pressure in a busy, seasonal environment.Passion for quality ingredients and delivering a great guest experience.
