A highly regarded luxury country hotel in the Lake District is seeking a Senior Sous Chef to join its award-winning kitchen team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Sous Chef with a strong fine dining background to work in a multi-rosette environment, delivering high standards of cuisine using the finest seasonal ingredients.


The Senior Sous Chef will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring consistency, creativity, and excellence across all services. This role suits a driven and experienced Senior Sous Chef who thrives in a high-quality, detail-focused environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Chef in leading and managing the kitchen team.
  • Maintain consistently high standards across all sections and services.
  • Assist in menu development, showcasing seasonal and locally sourced produce.
  • Train, mentor, and develop junior chefs within the brigade.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
  • Take responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.


Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Sous Chef or strong Sous Chef within a 2 AA Rosette kitchen or higher.
  • Several years’ experience working at 2 Rosette level or above is essential.
  • Strong leadership and kitchen management skills.
  • Passion for high-quality food and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, fine dining environment.
  • Stable career history within quality establishments preferred.
