Salary: £14.00 per hour + £65.00 per sleep-in
Estimated Gross Annual Earnings: £33,100 per annum

Shifts: 40 hours per week (Flexible rolling rota) + approx. 5 sleep-ins per month

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and resilient Residential Support Worker to join a specialist service supporting young people with complex needs and learning disabilities (LD).This is a fantastic opportunity to provide a stable, safe, and nurturing environment for vulnerable young people, supporting them both during the day and overnight.

The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will guide young people through their daily routines, promote independence, and remain on-site overnight for scheduled sleep-in shifts. You will act as a consistent, reassuring presence, ensuring their dignity, safety, and well-being at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Holistic Care: Support children with learning disabilities and complex needs in line with their bespoke care plans.
- Life Skills & Activities: Promote independence, teach essential life skills, and engage young people in fulfilling daytime activities.
- Overnight Support: Complete scheduled sleep-in shifts to ensure safety and overnight support are available if required.
- Emotional Wellbeing: Support health, emotional, and sensory needs during the day and evening.
- Home Management: Contribute to everyday domestic duties, including cooking, cleaning, and laundry to maintain a warm, family-like environment.
- Reporting: Complete detailed daily logs, care plan updates, incident reports, and deliver clear handovers to the incoming team.
What We Are Looking ForExperience:
- Previous experience working with children or adults with learning disabilities or complex needs is highly desirable.
- Qualifications: An NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is a distinct advantage, though not essential.
- Flexibility: Ability to work a varied rolling rota including days, evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.
- Key Traits: Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and a calm, person-centred approach.
