Connective Careers Pathways is recruiting on behalf of an outstanding residential care provider for a resilient, experienced, and dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker. You will initially join a highly successful, established 3-bed EBD home in Tettenhall, before transitioning to lead a brand-new, solo EBD home opening in the Goldthorn area of Wolverhampton. This is an incredible opportunity to help shape a new provision and establish a therapeutic environment from the ground up.

The Role

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will provide strong shift leadership and high-quality, trauma-informed care. Your primary focus will be supporting a young person with complex emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), working collaboratively with the manager to implement structured care plans and establish a calm, safe, and nurturing household.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading shifts, managing daily routines, and supporting the team within the home.
  • Working closely with the young person to identify triggers, stimuli, and underlying factors of challenging behaviour.
  • Developing and implementing effective therapeutic responses and reduction strategies for the team to follow.
  • Maintaining the high standards of the initial Tettenhall home, which boasts a 'GOOD' Ofsted rating and excellent Regulation 44 reports.
  • Documenting accurate daily logs, incident reports, and delivering clear shift handovers.

Essential Requirements:Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Senior or established Support Worker within a children's residential home (specifically EBD settings).
  • Skills: Completely unfazed by challenging behaviours, emotionally resilient, and highly skilled in positive de-escalation.
  • Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
  • Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent/willingness to work towards).

Working Hours & Shift Patterns:

  • Initial Pattern (Tettenhall 3-bed home): 2 days on, 4 days off.
  • New Solo Home Pattern (Upon opening): 1 day on, 2 days off.
  • Note: Once the young person is settled, the shift pattern may change back to 2-on 4-off following a discussion and final decision by the home manager.

What's on Offer:

  • Competitive hourly rate of £14.90 per hour.
  • Flat rate of £50 per sleep-in (calculated at 2 sleep-ins per week, adding an extra £5,200 annually).
  • Opportunity to work in a premium, quiet, upper-class rural setting.
  • Clear career progression pathways within a growing, high-quality provision
