Connective Careers Pathways is recruiting on behalf of a children's residential care provider for an experienced and qualified Registered Manager to lead a 2-bed therapeutic Children's Residential Home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in Derby.This is an exciting opportunity for an established Registered Manager with a proven track record in children's residential care. Due to the structure of the existing management team, this position is not suitable for candidates seeking progression into their first Registered Manager role.


The Role


As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and smooth running of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance are maintained. You will lead and develop the staff team while creating a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment that enables young people to achieve positive outcomes.The successful candidate will also participate in the senior management on-call rota, providing emergency out-of-hours support approximately one week in every five.


Essential Requirements


  • Previously successful in obtaining Ofsted registration as a Registered Manager.
  • Ability to pass Ofsted Fit Person Interview and registration requirements.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory or management position within Children's Residential Care.
  • Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Experience supporting young people with EBD is highly desirable.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or Level 5 Diploma in Children, Young People and Families Management.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential).


Working Hours


  • Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours where required to meet the needs of the home.
  • Participation in the senior management on-call rota (approximately 1 week in every 5).
