Senior Children's Residential Support Worker

📍 Derby

💰 £38,683.63 per annum (inclusive of sleep-in payments)

📈 Salary increase following successful completion of a 6-month probation period


Connective Careers Pathways is recruiting on behalf of a children's residential care provider in Derby for an experienced Senior Residential Care Practitioner to join a 2-bed children's residential home.


This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced residential childcare professional looking to take the next step in their career and help lead a dedicated team supporting children and young people.


Key Responsibilities


  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people.
  • Lead and support the staff team to deliver outstanding care.
  • Promote positive outcomes and safeguard the welfare of young people.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor to colleagues.


Essential Requirements


  • Minimum 1 year's experience managing or leading a team within a children's residential setting.
  • Strong knowledge and experience within children's residential care.
  • Relevant qualification in line with children's residential care regulations.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
  • Passion for improving the lives of children and young people.


Working Pattern


  • 3-week rolling rota.
  • Average of 10 shifts per month.
  • Shift pattern: 08:00 – 23:00, sleep-in, followed by handover 08:00 – 08:30 the following day.
  • Average monthly hours: 244.5 hours, including training and team meetings.
  • Annual leave entitlement: 360 hours.
