Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home

Location: Sittingbourne

Salary: £42,000 + On-Call Allowance

Hours: 40 hours per weekWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a children’s residential home in Sittingbourne. This role is ideal for a strong Senior Residential Practitioner looking to step up into management or an existing Deputy Manager seeking a new opportunity.


The Role

You will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, leading the staff team and ensuring young people are supported within a safe, stable and nurturing environment. The children and young people may present with social, emotional and behavioural needs, so experience within residential care is essential.

Key Duties

Support the overall management of the home

Supervise and support the residential care team

Ensure the home operates in line with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015

Contribute to care planning, reviews and multi-agency meetings

Support staff development and maintain high standards of care

Participate in the on-call rota and provide cover where required


Requirements

NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care or Level 4 in Children, Young People and Families (or a relevant degree)

Minimum 1 year’s experience supervising or shift leading in a children’s residential setting

Good leadership and communication skills

A genuine commitment to supporting young people
