Connective Careers Pathways is recruiting on behalf of an exciting, newly established children's residential care provider for a dedicated Registered Manager in Newcastle-under-Lyme. The Role
As Registered Manager, you will hold overall operational and legal responsibility for the home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and compliant environment. Supported directly by the experienced directorate, you will lead and develop the staff team while driving positive outcomes for vulnerable young people. Additionally, you will play a key mentoring role, working closely with your Deputy Manager to support their professional development and step-up readiness.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing the daily operations and regulatory compliance of the complex needs home.
- Leading, mentoring, and supervising the residential care and management team.
- Supporting the professional development of the Deputy Manager.
- Maintaining high safeguarding standards and managing challenging behaviour effectively.
- Overseeing care planning, risk assessments, and multi-agency collaboration.
- Delivering in-house training and ensuring adherence to Quality Standards.
Essential Requirements
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce (or Residential Childcare) AND Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with children and young people in residential childcare.
- Management: At least 2 years’ supervisory or management experience within a children’s home.
- Specialism: Extensive knowledge and practical experience in managing challenging behaviour.
- Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational abilities.
Working Hours:
- Full-time position.
- Predominantly Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00
- Flexibility required to meet the operational needs of the home.
- Participation in the management on-call rota.
