Paralegal – Corporate & Commercial
Location: Bury
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 DOE
We are working with a well-established and growing law firm in Bury that is looking to appoint an ambitious Paralegal to join its highly regarded Corporate & Commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside an experienced corporate lawyer advising entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses and growing companies across the region.
The team works on a broad range of high-quality matters, including mergers and acquisitions, share sales and purchases, management buyouts, shareholder agreements, corporate reorganisations, share buy-backs, de-mergers, commercial contracts and intellectual property matters. You will gain exposure to a varied caseload and have the opportunity to work closely with clients from day one.
This role would particularly suit someone who is not only organised and technically capable, but also enthusiastic about becoming involved in business development and helping to support the growth of the practice. The firm is keen to attract a candidate who enjoys building relationships, networking and developing strong connections with clients and professional contacts, and who wants to play an active role in the continued success of the team.
The Role
- Assisting on a range of corporate and commercial transactions
- Supporting acquisitions, disposals and business restructures
- Drafting and reviewing commercial agreements and supporting documentation
- Preparing shareholder and constitutional documents
- Carrying out legal research and due diligence exercises
- Liaising with clients, Companies House and third parties
- Supporting networking and business development initiatives
- Working closely with senior lawyers while developing your knowledge and experience within Corporate & Commercial law
- Building and maintaining strong client and referrer relationships
About You
- Previous experience as a Paralegal within Corporate and/or Commercial law
- A Law degree, LPC, SQE or equivalent legal qualification preferred
- Strong drafting, organisational and analytical skills
- Commercially minded with a pragmatic and client-focused approach
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Enthusiastic about business development and keen to get involved in networking and client engagement activities
- Ambitious and motivated to build a long-term career in Corporate & Commercial law within a growing firm
