We’re supporting a confidential organisation working at the forefront of advanced nuclear and Small Modular Reactor (SMR) development in the UK. They’re strengthening their Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) capability and are open to engineers operating anywhere from solid mid-level to senior specialist level.


The role sits at the heart of safety, licensing, and risk-informed design. Depending on your background, you may focus on hands-on PSA model development under experienced guidance, or take technical ownership, shaping PSA strategy and mentoring others. You might be in a role where PSA work feels compartmentalised, disconnected from real design decisions, or limited to maintenance of legacy models. Or perhaps you’re already leading PSA activities and want your technical judgement to carry real weight within an active SMR programme. This position offers depth and progression.


You’ll work directly with fault trees, event trees, and sensitivity studies, integrating PSA insights with deterministic safety analysis and wider engineering teams. At senior level, you’ll influence how risk insights are used in licensing discussions and design decisions.
