Build your I&C career across the full lifecycle of a next-generation SMR programme.
We’re supporting a confidential organisation in the advanced nuclear sector as they expand their Instrumentation & Control (I&C) capability across a UK-based Small Modular Reactor programme.
This opportunity spans multiple experience levels, from early-career engineers building their foundations to senior specialists providing technical leadership.
The common thread is exposure to real system design, integration, and assurance within a highly regulated, safety-critical environment. Perhaps you’re early in your career and want to move beyond theoretical control systems into real-world nuclear applications. Or you may already be working in I&C and feel constrained by narrow scopes, limited ownership, or a lack of long-term programme visibility.
This role offers a clear alternative: work on I&C systems across the design, specification, integration, and licensing lifecycle, with responsibility aligned to your experience, and room to grow. The technical colour includes control logic development, system architecture, interface definition, vendor engagement, and contribution to nuclear safety and regulatory documentation.
Senior engineers will act as technical authorities and mentors; junior engineers will be supported to build confidence and depth in a demanding engineering environment. If you have a foundation in I&C engineering, whether you’re developing it or ready to lead, we’d be glad to explore whether this could be your next step.
Capax Mundi supports engineers across nuclear and energy-transition programmes by connecting them with work that is technically meaningful and built for the long term.
