Job Summary

Nuclear Radiation Protection Specialist — Radiation Analysis, Safety & Nuclear Materials Transport

If you have a foundational background in nuclear engineering and want to build deeper capability in radiation protection, shielding analysis, and nuclear transport assessments, this role provides a clear pathway toward full technical ownership within advanced nuclear systems.

We’re supporting a leading organisation in nuclear engineering and safety solutions seeking an Engineer to join its radiation protection and shielding team. You’ll contribute to modelling dose fields, determining shielding requirements, supporting transport package assessments, and preparing safety documentation for complex nuclear systems.

Perhaps today you’ve only had exposure to academic modelling, foundational radiation protection coursework, or limited experience with transport or shielding tools. You may be looking for clearer mentorship, modern computation toolsets, or a structured path into full radiological safety and transport analysis responsibilities.

This role offers exactly that. You’ll work closely with experienced radiation protection engineers, nuclear safety specialists, and transport analysts while developing and verifying models using radiation transport and shielding tools such as MCNP, SCALE, or MicroShield. You’ll support technical evaluations for nuclear material handling, packaging, and transportation, and gain insight into how radiological safety analysis feeds regulatory submissions and licensing decisions. If you have foundational experience in radiation physics, shielding design, radiation protection, or nuclear transport principles—and you want to deepen those skills within a supportive, safety-driven engineering team—we’d be glad to speak with you.
