Associate Nuclear Safety Analyst — Deterministic Safety Analysis (Anonymous)
If you’re early in your nuclear career and want to grow into full ownership of safety analyses on an SMR programme, this role offers a rare pathway into meaningful deterministic work.
We’re supporting a leading organisation in advanced nuclear technologies seeking an Associate Nuclear Safety Analyst to join its deterministic safety analysis (DSA) team. You’ll contribute to the modelling and evaluation of core behaviour, coolant system performance, engineered safety features, containment response, and radiological release assessments for a modern SMR design.Perhaps today you only see fragments of the safety workflow, or your exposure to major system codes is limited to coursework or small-scale models. You might be looking for stronger mentorship, modern toolsets, or a clearer step into full AOO/DBA responsibility.
This role offers that development path. You’ll work directly with experienced safety analysts and thermal–hydraulics engineers while building and verifying models using nuclear system codes such as RELAP5, RETRAN, COBRA, VIPRE, or GOTHIC. You’ll also produce safety documentation and gain insight into how deterministic analysis feeds licensing decisions.
If you have foundational experience in LWR thermal–hydraulics and familiarity with at least one system code—and want to deepen your skills within a supportive team—we’d be glad to speak with you.
Capax Mundi partners with organisations across advanced nuclear and the wider energy transition to help people find work that matters.
