Built Alliance are delighted to be seeking an Acquisitions & Development Manager to join a fast-growing, tech-driven Property Investment & Development Company, playing a key role in identifying, appraising and progressing an impressive and growing portfolio of mixed-use, high-profile (Commercial/BTR Residential) development schemes across the North West.
This is a development-led role suited to an experienced or intermediate-level professional with a genuine interest in the acquisition and appraisal side of the business, who wants to build their development career within a company that combines in-house delivery capability with a strong growth trajectory.
Working closely with the small but growing acquisitions and delivery teams, you'll play a central role in bringing new opportunities forward, from initial identification and feasibility through to planning and onward handover, within a business that proudly combines development expertise with in-house delivery capability.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and assess development opportunities, supporting feasibility studies and appraisals
Assist in progressing sites from acquisition through planning, working closely with the wider development team
Support the planning process including S106, S278, S73 and condition discharge
Help monitor cash flow, budgets and development performance against appraisal
Liaise with the in-house contractor and external consultants as schemes move through design and planning
Assist with reporting on progress, risks and returns to senior stakeholders
Contribute to leasing, marketing and operational strategy discussions as schemes progress
Support delivery of legal, planning and contractual obligations across live sites
Requirements
Experience in a development, acquisitions or related property role, ideally with exposure to mixed-use schemes (BTR, residential, hotels, commercial)
A solid understanding of the UK planning system and appraisal process
Comfortable working alongside multi-disciplinary teams and external consultants
Some exposure to stakeholder or investor reporting is beneficial but not essential
Client-side, developer, or consultancy background considered
Good understanding of the North West property and built environment market
MRICS(or working towards) is a bonus, but the right experience and appetite to grow matters more
An interest in BTR and placemaking strategies would be a real advantage
Not a typical role we often have the pleasure of recruiting for. if you'd like to find out more, please do contact Rob Hayton at Built Alliance.
