One of our long-standing consultancy clients is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (Perm or Freelance) to support the delivery of a major UK-wide energy infrastructure programme.

This role will involve leading complex capital projects within a high-profile national energy initiative, working closely with key stakeholders across government, infrastructure partners, and delivery teams.

Based in Warrington, the successful Project Manager will operate in a hybrid model (typically 3 days per week on site) and will play a key leadership role in driving project delivery across multiple workstreams.

Key Responsibilities•

Lead the delivery of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects across a national programme.

• Manage project lifecycle from initiation through to delivery and close-out.

• Provide strategic oversight across programme workstreams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

• Administer and manage projects delivered under NEC contract frameworks, ensuring full compliance and effective commercial management.

• Act as a senior interface between project sponsors, delivery partners, and technical teams.

• Manage risk, change control, and programme reporting at a senior stakeholder level.

• Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams and support best practice delivery methodologies.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience delivering major infrastructure or energy projects as a Senior Project Manager.

• Extensive experience working with NEC contracts (NEC3 / NEC4).

• Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex programmes or portfolios with multiple stakeholders.

• Strong commercial awareness and contract management capability.

• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills within complex organisational environments.

• Experience working on energy, utilities, or large national infrastructure programmes is highly desirable.

Location & Working Pattern

• Warrington based – 3 days per week on site• Remaining time flexible / remote depending on project needs.
