Job Summary

Location: 100% Remote (California Bar license required; Pacific Time hours)

Compensation: $125,000 – $300,000 base salary + heavy billable performance bonuses

Our Client is a collaborative, remote-first law firm seeking a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join their expanding practice. Operating with full remote flexibility, Our Client gives attorneys the freedom to work from anywhere while offering direct partner access, full case autonomy from inception through appeal, and a supportive team structure.


Whether you are an experienced workers' compensation practitioner or a civil litigator looking to transition into a stable practice area, Our Client offers a comprehensive training program to bring you up to speed quickly.


Key Responsibilities


  • End-to-End Case Management: Manage defense cases from initial file opening through trial and appeal.
  • Case Valuation & Strategy: Evaluate exposure early to provide strategic settlement recommendations or litigation strategies to clients.
  • Client Relations: Partner closely with insurance adjusters, risk managers, and self-insured employers, maintaining a client-first communication style.
  • Billable Performance: Achieve a monthly target of 220 billable hours, with lucrative bonus potential for excess hours and new client files.


Qualifications


  • Licensure: Active California Bar license in good standing (Required).
  • Experience: 1+ years of legal practice in workers' compensation defense, civil litigation, or insurance defense.
  • Education: J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Core Competencies: Excellent client-facing skills, a conservative and accurate approach to billing, and a track record of stability in past roles.
