BĀK Goods is a premium, indulgent, high-protein baking mix brand based in Austin, Texas, scaling with consistent month-over-month revenue growth. The company has a full product lineup of 5 core SKUs and 2 seasonal SKUs in the dry mix category, all with proven sales and repeat demand. The company is seeking a true co-founder to own operations and growth and help build BĀK Goods into a category-defining CPG brand.
Title: Co-Founder, COO / Head of Growth
Location: Austin, TX preferred; remote considered
Compensation: Equity only (significant co-founder stake, vesting over time)
The Role:
This person will partner directly with the Founder/CEO to take BĀK Goods from a growing direct-to-consumer business to an omnichannel brand spanning DTC and specialty grocery. The role is designed for a seasoned CPG operator who can lead execution across operations, finance, growth, and fundraising while acting as a strategic partner to the founder. Board and ultimate governance control will remain solely with the Founder/CEO. This is still a true builder seat with meaningful ownership, real influence on company direction, and substantial responsibility for business performance.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day operations across supply chain, manufacturing, inventory, and fulfillment.
- Build and optimize the company’s financial model, unit economics, margins, and cash planning.
- Architect and execute the DTC growth engine across customer acquisition, retention, merchandising, and lifetime value.
- Prepare the business for expansion into specialty and natural grocery channels.
- Lead or support fundraising strategy and execution, including investor outreach, materials, diligence, and closing.
- Manage critical external relationships, including co-manufacturers, 3PLs, agencies, brokers, retail buyers, and strategic partners.
- Build operating systems, KPIs, dashboards, and planning processes needed to scale efficiently.
- Serve as a strategic partner on brand, product roadmap, and channel strategy.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will bring both proven CPG operating experience and founder-level ownership. Required Experience
- 8–10+ years of experience in CPG, with senior leadership experience in food.
- Demonstrated success launching and scaling a food CPG brand through a successful exit, including sale or IPO.
- Deep hands-on expertise across supply chain, finance, marketing, and operations.
- Proven experience managing fundraising processes and investor relationships.
- Strong industry network across manufacturers, distributors, brokers, buyers, investors, and operators.
- Ability to work with low ego, high accountability, and strong execution discipline.
Preferred Qualities:
- Experience scaling premium food brands.
- Strong understanding of DTC economics and retail expansion strategy.
- Comfort operating in a bootstrapped environment with high ambiguity and fast decision cycles.
- Desire to build a long-term company with meaningful equity upside.
Equity Structure:
Compensation for this role is equity only. Equity will be structured as a substantial co-founder stake and will depend on experience, contribution, and whether the candidate brings capital into the business.
