Job Summary
Our client is a renewable energy developer and independent power producer (IPP) that
collaborates with medium-to-large commercial and industrial real estate groups, as well as
renewable energy developers. We enhance property net income and tenant value by
implementing renewable, resilient, and smart energy infrastructure such as solar, storage,
electric vehicle charging, and microgrids.
Our unique approach enables customers to leverage this increased income as a competitive
advantage to expand their property portfolios. Our proprietary origination-to-operations
platform supports partners with optimal site identification and acquisition, energy load
estimation, system design, project finance, and asset management.
Our client is in search of a Director of Business Development who has expertise in the DG,
commercial and industrial renewable energy market. This role involves connecting with key
business executives and stakeholders, developing long-term collaborative relationships with
prospects and clients, managing a portfolio of clients, generating new business from existing
clients, and actively seeking new partnership opportunities. Additionally, the director will
work closely with cross-functional internal teams to enhance the overall client experience.
Please note that this position may require occasional travel.
Experience
10+ years of experience in sales and/or account management
• 7+ years of experience in renewable energy; solar and energy storage highly
preferred
• Understanding of industry trends and developing new markets
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, communications, or related field
highly preferred
• Professional sales training (Sandler Sales Institute, Dale Carnegie or similar) a plus
• Demonstrated ability to credibly and effectively communicate with, present to, and
influence all organizational levels, including executive and C-level
Job Responsibilities
- Take ownership of everything you work on and be responsible for the thoroughness and quality of everything you create
- Update industry and job knowledge, and identify and track industry trends by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; and maintaining personal networks
- Help clients through email, phone, online presentations, screen-share and in person meetings
- Prepare reports on account status; clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
