Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Associate Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Manchester. This role will suit someone with a strong background in mechanical building services design, proven client-facing experience, and the ability to lead projects across multiple sectors. You’ll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, delivering sustainable and innovative engineering solutions on complex developments
Experience
The successful candidate will have a proven background working as a Mechanical Engineer, ideally progressing to senior or associate level, with significant consultancy experience. You should bring a strong understanding of UK building regulations and British Standards, alongside hands-on experience delivering projects across sectors such as residential, commercial, healthcare, science and research, or mission-critical environments. A track record of leading client relationships and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams will be key, as will the ability to apply technical expertise to deliver innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver mechanical designs across a range of project types and sizes
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and project stakeholders
- Define and agree project briefs, ensuring profitable and high-quality outcomes
- Manage and mentor junior engineers, supporting their professional growth
- Monitor project costs, resources, and delivery timelines
- Oversee quality assurance, technical accuracy, and risk management
- Contribute to business development and support with bid preparation
