Experience
Technical Skills: You have the ability to read and fault-find from schematic drawings, with hands-on experience in inverter drives, relay logic, and PLCs. Instrumentation Expertise: Experience in calibration and maintenance of front-line instrumentation is a strong advantage. Operational Understanding: Practical knowledge of plant and control systems is highly desirable. Qualifications: Ideally, you hold an HNC or City and Guilds NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in an electrical discipline. Driving Licence: A valid UK driving licence is essential as you will cover multiple sites. Physical Fitness: You are comfortable working at height and willing to complete IPAF training. Flexibility to work out of hours when necessary is a must.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, modify, and commission new plant equipment to high standards
- Diagnose and repair faults on plant control systems efficiently to minimise production loss
- Perform instrumentation, control, and automation maintenance on production equipment for asphalt and concrete.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and create method statements to ensure safe installation or maintenance activities
- Provide technical advice and support, including training for trainees
