Job Summary
We are working with a well-established consultancy in the power and utilities sector that is seeking a Mid-Level
Distribution Engineer to support their growing workload across multiple regions. This is a great opportunity for an
experienced engineer who has worked either directly within a utility or in a consulting capacity focused on
distribution design and planning.
Experience
What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Civil strongly preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in utility distribution
• Solid understanding of applicable codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NESC), joint use design, and utility-
specific construction documentation
• Experience working with compatible units and construction packages
• Ability to pass a background check and hold a valid driver’s license
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to travel occasionally as project needs dictate
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience using work management systems (e.g., Maximo, SAP)
• Familiarity with GIS platforms and tools (e.g., ArcFM, GE Smallworld)
• Knowledge of pole loading and analysis software (e.g., PLS-CADD, Spida-Calc)
Job Responsibilities
- Design and engineering of distribution systems (4 kV – 69 kV), including both overhead and underground configurations
- Provide technical guidance and lead internal teams consisting of engineers, designers, and field personnel
- Communicate directly with clients throughout the lifecycle of projects, ensuring expectations and deliverables are met
- Contribute to the development of project scopes, schedules, budgets, and technical plans
- Review and validate design packages, reports, and calculations
- Apply engineering judgment to solve real-world design challenges
