The Governance & Strategic Partnerships Manager will play a key role in supporting the Company's continued international growth by strengthening internal governance, operational controls and strategic partnerships.Working closely with the Directors and senior management team, the successful candidate will support the development and continuous improvement of governance and compliance frameworks, coordinate due diligence and onboarding activities, assist with the delivery of strategic business projects, and help develop relationships with international partners and professional advisers.The role combines governance, operational oversight and international stakeholder engagement to support the Company's long-term growth across multiple jurisdictions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
•Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Company's governance, compliance and risk management framework.
•Monitor compliance with company policies, operational procedures and internal controls.
•Undertake due diligence reviews on prospective clients, introducers, strategic partners and business relationships.
•Coordinate due diligence procedures, including AML, KYC and source of funds checks undertaken as part of the Company's client onboarding processes and, where appropriate, in conjunction with external professional advisers.
•Maintain governance records, compliance registers and management information.
•Identify operational, governance and reputational risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
•Prepare governance reports, compliance reports and management information for the Directors to support operational decision-making.
•Assist with internal and external audit preparation and implementation of recommendations.
Client, Introducer & Strategic Partner Onboarding
•Coordinate client, introducer and strategic partner onboarding processes.
•Manage due diligence documentation and onboarding records.
•Liaise with professional advisers and external stakeholders throughout onboarding activities.
•Ensure onboarding activities are completed in accordance with Company procedures and compliance requirements.
•Maintain accurate onboarding records and stakeholder information.
Strategic Partnerships
•Develop and maintain relationships with international referral partners, professional advisers and strategic stakeholders.
•Coordinate information requests, due diligence exercises and partnership reviews.
•Support the development of strategic partnerships across existing and emerging international markets.
•Prepare briefing papers, market intelligence reports and partnership assessments.
•Support Directors in meetings with international stakeholders and strategic partners where appropriate.Financial Governance & Reporting
•Support budgeting, financial monitoring and project reporting activities.
•Review expenditure reports, supporting documentation and financial information to ensure compliance with internal procedures.•Assist with the preparation of management reports and governance reporting.
•Monitor operational performance against agreed objectives and internal controls.
•Support financial governance processes across strategic business projects.
Strategic Projects
•Coordinate international business projects involving multiple stakeholders across different jurisdictions.
•Support the implementation of new operational systems, governance procedures and internal controls.
•Assist with business planning, operational improvement initiatives and strategic development projects.
•Support the Directors with research, reporting and commercial analysis relating to new business opportunities.
•Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives designed to strengthen governance, operational efficiency and organisational resilience.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
Applicants must demonstrate:
•Degree or postgraduate qualification in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Audit, Compliance, Governance or a related discipline.
•Significant experience in governance, compliance, audit, financial controls or regulatory reporting.
•Significant experience working in governance, compliance or operational management within an international organisation or other complex multi-stakeholder environment.
•Experience developing or supporting governance frameworks, compliance reporting and risk management processes.
•Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
•High levels of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
Desirable
The following would be advantageous:
•Professional qualifications in Accounting, Audit, Compliance or Governance.
•Experience of AML, KYC and due diligence procedures.
•Experience supporting governance and compliance within internationally focused businesses operating across multiple jurisdictions.
•Knowledge of corporate governance frameworks, operational risk management and internal control systems.
