Experience
Proven leadership experience managing teams of 15+ employees in cargo, freight, logistics, or aviation operations. Strong background in cargo handling, warehousing, or airport logistics (international and domestic). Operational start-up or business expansion experience highly regarded. Commercial acumen with experience in budget management and revenue optimisation. Expertise in safety management, compliance, and industrial relations. Ability to build strong client relationships and collaborate with airline partners and airport authorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google applications, and company IT systems. Familiarity with enterprise bargaining agreements (EBAs) and workplace regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership – Oversee end-to-end cargo operations, ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency.
- Start-Up & Growth – Play a key role in the launch and expansion of the Auckland cargo operations.
- Client & Stakeholder Management – Develop strong relationships with airline clients, airport authorities, and internal teams.
- Safety & Compliance – Implement and oversee the Safety Management System (SMS) and ensure OH&S compliance.
- Team Leadership & Development – Build and mentor a high-performing cargo operations team, fostering a positive, inclusive culture.
- Performance & Continuous Improvement – Use KPIs and scorecards to track success and implement operational improvements.
- Financial & Resource Management – Oversee manpower planning, cost control, and revenue maximisation.
- New Project Development – Support business expansion, service rollouts, and process innovation.
