Draft, negotiate and complete s106, s38, s278 agreements and any other agreement and licenses relating to planning and highways matters.
Advise on all matters relating on planning and highways matters. Lead, manage and supervise a team of contract lawyers, planning lawyers and property lawyers.
Positively contribute as member of the Legal Services.
Management Team. Conduct member training. Attend and advise at planning committee and any other council committees, as necessary. Deputize for the councils.
Monitoring Officer including attending high level meetings. Progress the councils various corporate agenda. Undertake any other duties as may be required by the Deputy Director Law & Committee Services
The postholder may have to cover meetings and committees some of which take place in the evening. Initially, the postholder is expected in the office at least twice a week.
In person interview is preferred. A remote interview may be accomodated in exceptional circumstances.
The interview process is a single stage interview. The interview should last no more than 60 minutes.
It is expected that applicants will be asked techincal requestions relating to planning and highways law as well as local government governance arrangements. They will also be asked questions about their work history relevant to the role.
The interview panel will likely be composed of 2 or 3 people - "Deputy Director Law & Committee Services", “Head of Social Care and Litigation”, and one other.
