Senior Network Engineer – Contract (Inside IR35)
Location: Hybrid (London WC1)
Rate: £400–£450/day
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3–6 months - potential extension
Working Hours: 7 hours/day between 8am–6pm
4C Resourcing is supporting a confidential public sector organisation in the search for a Senior Network Engineer to join a major network transformation initiative. This role will play a pivotal part in a large‑scale network re‑architecture programme, working within the infrastructure project team and contributing to upgrades aligned with Cyber Essentials requirements. The successful candidate will help drive secure, resilient, and modernised network services across the organisation.
This hybrid role requires travel to central London. On-site Requirement: Tuesdays plus additional days as needed.
It is essential to be available at short notice to start this project, and to live within a commutable distance from Central London, typically within 1 - 1.5 hours.
Key Responsibilities
VLAN, subnet, and security zone migrations
Switch and WiFi configuration, installation, and replacement
802.1x and NAC deployment
DDI (DNS, DHCP, IP) cleansing and consolidation
Firewall and Citrix Netscaler upgrades (including Panorama and MFA)
Monitoring and alerting setup
Technical documentation for approval boards
Essential Skills
5+ years in senior network roles
Experience leading Networking, NAC, DDI, and WiFi projects
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication
Hands-on experience with:
Palo Alto firewalls
Aruba and HP switches
Infoblox DDI
Meraki and Aruba WiFi
Aruba ClearPass
ITIL experience (change and incident management)
Skilled in creating and presenting high- and low-level designs

This role may occasionally require out-of-hours work for planned service-affecting tasks. Ideal for a proactive engineer with strong technical leadership and a positive, can-do attitude.
